About me
Leigh Kohlmann brings 30+ years of passion for teaching science to elementary and middle school students. Leigh promotes science as one of many ways of knowing by facilitating local, state, and national workshops. She has been recognized for her educational excellence and innovation as a 2004 Kohl Fellow and was honored with a Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education in 2020. Leigh published two articles in 2024, Cultivating Genius for Science Contexts: Where does the pursuit of joy fit into science learning? and The Science Practice of Modeling as a Sensemaking Tool.
